Good fruit

A few things to be further reflected upon:

Matthew 7:16 - 18
By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.

Galatians 5:22 - 23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Galatians 5:24 - 25
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

You don't have to tell a good tree - "You gotta produce good fruit!"
A Christian shouldn't be struggling and straining to produce good fruit.
Yes it requires persistence, but not of our own strength.
But then again.. what is our definition of Christianity? Mere confession?
Luke 9:23 - "... If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me"
